Eight AMR Vantage GT4 crews return for second round of FFSA GT4 from Magna-Cours
Wednesday, May 03, 2023
That change would be for the #6 Mirage Racing crew of Vincent Beltoise and Yves Lemaitre who had to patiently sit out the opening round from Nogaro a month ago simply because their new for 2023 AMR Vantage was not ready for them.
They now take the place filled last time by the #72 GPA Racing crew of Kevin Jimenez and Florent Grizaud who used last month’s opener as a warm-up to their GT4 European Series.
The other seven entries from again the Mirage Racing, AGS Events Racing, GPA Racing and Racing Spirit of Leman teams remain constant but will hopefully be better prepared this time after the opening race at Nogaro turned into something of a disaster for the Aston Martin runners with three cars failing to finish in that race, leading into three cars not starting race two with a further DNF between them due to accident damage and/or technical issue.
The only salvation came from the #72 GPA crew of Jimenez and Grizaud who finished second within the Am Class by the end of the opening race.
Provisionally listed runners include: -
#5 Mirage Racing (Silver) Ruben Del Sarte / David Kullmann
#6 Mirage Racing (Pro-Am) Vincent Beltoise / Yves Lemaitre
#7 Mirage Racing (Silver) Romain Carton / Louis Meric
#39 GPA Racing (Pro-Am) Tom Verdier / Baudouin Detout
#74 RSLM (Am) Ronald Basso / Clement Dub
#89 AGS Events (Pro-Am) Hugo Bac / Nicolas Gomar
#92 RSLM (Silver) Victor Weyrich / Mateo Villagomez
#98 AGS Events (Am) Christophe Carriere / Didier Dumaine
Despite the results from Nogaro, there were elements of pace within class - particularly from the #6 Mirage and #92 RSLM cars so as long as the crews can keep their cars in tact and upon the tarmac, they stand as good a chance as any within the two hour long races over the weekend.
