Street Art Racing return to GT Open and GT Open Cup with their colourful Aston Martins

Rounding off last weekend’s Aston Martin Racing powered affairs had the two Street Art Racing Vantage GT3 and GT4 crews take to the track for the opening rounds of the GT Open and GT Open Cup from Portimao.

Within the teams colourful Vantage GT3 was the former GT4 European Series Am Class Champion Pascal Bachmann return to the series for his second season but this time with a co-driver in Jahid Fazal-Karim having raced solo for the events that he attended last year.

Unfortunately for these guys, their 2023 campaign got off to a faltering start after the #007 car suffered transmission issues that resulted in them not completing the opening race and not starting the weekend’ second.

That said, there were no such issues for the GT Open Cup debut for Fazal-Karim’s son, Jayan as he and Julien Darras entered the Trophy Class of the GT4 and GT Cup based series in their Aston Vantage.

With only two cars within that class, race position is probably not the object of this exercise as Jayan steps up to GT4 racing for the first time at this and two other rounds of the season, but they did complete the task together, finishing P15 in race 1 and then P13 in race 2.
