A quick shout of to those at Automatic Racing

Just a quick shout out to all those at Automatic Racing over in Florida who last weekend completed their first race meeting after losing one of their own from cancer.

Competing within the World Racing League’s latest eight plus seven-hour race weekend from Watkins Glen, saw the team’s venerable #909 Aston Martin Racing Vantage GT4 take part against some much newer machinery and again proved that all that shines is not necessarily gold with a P11 overall finish is Sundays second race.

A renowned neurosurgeon by day and an avid motor racing fan at all other times, Ramin Abdolvahabi was a very familiar face anywhere within the David Russell lead team either within the IMSA Michelin Pilot Challenge Series or more of late within the WRL Series and his recent and untimely passing clearly affected many within the team.

Competing with their #909 car that still carried his name, the team’s resolve and indeed results last weekend would have surely raised a smile from the big man.
