Friday, February 05, 2016

Last but no means least from todays press conference was a surprise announcement for the 24Hour of Le Mans in June.

The FIA/ACO announced an extended 60 car grid for this years event due to the 'significant quantity of high quality entry requests' that has resulted in a 9x LMP1, 22x LMP2, 14x GTE Pro and 14x GTE Am entry for sports car racings premier event.

Three AMR cars were already confirmed for the 24H as full season WEC entries and the TDS Racing ELMS entry also qualified as an automatic entry via them winning the 2015 ELMS GTC title. It did however come as a bit of a surprise to see that AMR's other ELMS entry, the #99 of Andrew Howard was also given the nod by the entry committee.

All Astons except for the TDS Racing car have so far confirmed to be running on Dunlop's at Le Sarthe.

That's FIVE Astons at Le Mans in June!!

Again, we will have to wait until later to see the full driver line-ups in these cars for the 24Hour.
