Two more Aston's in twelve hour finales this weekend

Wednesday, November 11, 2020

Two further Aston Martin Racing Partner and customer racing teams compete within two separate twelve hour endurance races as their respective Series see out their season this weekend.

Over at the Sebring International Raceway, the Heart of Racing team have one last attack for the top step of their IMSA Weathertech Sportscar Championship GTD Class as drivers Roman De Angelis and Ian James race their #23 Aston Martin Racing V8 Vantage GT3 one last time this season along with the help of AMR factory driver Darren Turner.

Having started the season nearly nine months ago, their season started badly with a race ending accident at the Championship opening Daytona 24 before the global CV-19 situation then put their race programme on hold before coming back progressively stronger to secure their first class podium of the year so far at the Charlotte Motor Speedway round in mid-October.

Buoyed by the performances of their sister car down in the New Zealand GT Endurance Series, the #23 car will go out looking for top honours during the gruelling finale around the former wartime airfield site in Florida at the Mobil 12 Hours of Sebring.

Then over at Mugello, Italy we have the German based PROsport Racing team field their AMR Vantage GT4 one last time this year at the season ending 12-hour race for their regular drivers Nico Verdonck and Rodrique Gillion.

Joining them this time is a young German racer more associated with marques from her homeland in series like the DMV GTC Series and most recently the ADAC GT Master in the form of Carrie Schreiner who makes her first appearance in an Aston Martin.

The 24H Series event will run over its usual split format over both Friday and Saturday whilst the IMSA finale will run this Saturday  – both events available in live stream via the Series social media channels.
